Position Description
Reports to: WAYJO General Manager
Location: WAYJO Offices, Guildford Road Maylands
Position Type: Part time – 2 to 3 days a week

Role purpose
This role will work with WAYJO’s Executive Team and Board to create a Business Development Plan and then deliver the plan. The aim is to deliver sustainable income streams and build and nurture philanthropic and corporate partnerships. There will be a focus on generating sustainable forms of income through benefaction, partnerships, grants, foundations and trusts, and meeting financial targets in a competitive environment.
Musical Career Programs
Performers
WAYJO offers training in big band jazz and improvised modern music across three big bands to musicians, aged 14 to 25 years.
Registrations for band members are not currently open.
* PLEASE NOTE: Band Members do not hold paid positions, however some paid opportunities are available for band members with professional level ensembles through private, community & corporate event private bookings.
Conductors
WAYJO Assistant Musical Director
Experienced, music reading musicians aged 18 to 35 years are invited to apply for this paid 12-month trainee position.

Composers
2024 WAYJO Composer in Residence
Through its Composer-in-Residence programs, WAYJO annually supports emerging composers under 30 years of age to develop new works by offering commissions, artistic mentorship, plus professionally recorded audio and video content for their portfolio.
