54 brilliant young musicians. Dozens of concerts, workshops, and events. Guest artists, regional tours, international exchanges. For more than 40 years, WAYJO has been an essential part of Perth’s cultural life, helping launch the careers of hundreds of artists around the world.

But creating these opportunities takes more than passion – it takes support. WAYJO contributes roughly $12,000 per orchestra member each year, with less than 15% covered by government funding. That’s where you come in.

When you sponsor an orchestra seat, you’re not just supporting an instrument – you’re backing the young musician who plays it, helping them grow, create, and thrive throughout the year.

Each sponsored seat represents an essential role in the orchestra – shaping the sound, leading sections, and developing individual artistry. From saxophones and trombones to rhythm section and voice, these chairs give young musicians the chance to step into responsibility, refine their skills, and contribute to the ensemble’s identity.

Sponsorship connects you directly to the musician in that chair. You’ll follow their journey through the year, see how they grow in rehearsal and on stage, and share in the legacy of a role that has been held by leading Australian jazz artists including Linda Oh, Mat Jodrell, Troy Roberts and Sarah McKenzie.
