Jazz at The Maj: Central Park North – New York featuring Dick Oatts (USA)

02/08/2019, 7:30 pm - 9:30 pm

|Recurring Event (See all)

An event every day that begins at 7:30 pm, repeating until 03/08/2019

Dick Oatts, one of the modern great saxophonists, composers and bandleaders joins WAYJO straight from the home of jazz.

A huge influence on countless artists, Oatts brings his recognisable sound to two very special concerts. Leading the sax section of the famed Vanguard Jazz Orchestra since 1978, Oatts has one of the most recognisable lead alto sounds in jazz history.

And of course, as a resident of the Big Apple, Oatts will bring with him all of the very best that the city that never sleeps has to offer. From composers like Thad Jones to his own works, Dick Oatts will provide the highlight of the jazz year.

Do not miss out on this concert, sure to be one of WAYJO’s finest.

Dick Oatts appears thanks to funding provided by the United States Government and the Minderoo Foundation

* WAYJO is also offering a Concert-Workshop for schools Fri 2 Aug, 3pm. Booking is essential, with a maximum of 100 attendees per workshop. Tickets for staff and students are $12 each, then $10 for every additional concert/workshop booked in the year. More information & bookings at wayjo.com/education/concert-for-schools/
